Philadelphia J. Harmstead 1840 203 pp. Second edition. Abridged and collated by Edmund S. Janes. Illustrated with eighteen captioned, paginated wood engravings, stereotyped by J. Fagan. Adomeit lists only one copy of this edition, with just one defective copy for the first edition of 1839. A complete but much-read and thus worn copy in black leather, lacking two blanks. Owner's inscription on front and back endpapers. (Adomeit A93). (2 3/8 by 2; 60x50mm.). (Thumb Bible).
