First edition in English of the author’s Traité d’Hydraulique (1st ed.: 1834), which is usually considered to be the first didactic treatise on hydraulics. This book was one of a rapidly growing series of treatises on a subject that in itself was undergoing a continuous expansion. Very good copy. Ex Bibliotheca Mechanica. ❧ D.S.B., I, pp. 327-28.
