Descrizione del Teatro Nuovo in riva al Retrone ossia del riedificata Teatro di Piazza di Vicenza, umilitata all'illustre Accademia de teatro medesimi.
Vicenza, nella Stamperia Camerale, 1784. 8vo, pp. 24, a very good copy in 19th century boards. Rarefirst and only edition of the earliest description of the newly built 'Teatro Eretenio' in Vicenza, which was built on the old spot where the 'Teatro delle Garzerie' (burnt down 1683) and the 'Teatro di Piazza' (1688-1780, then demolished) had stood. The new theatre was built on designs by the architect Antonio Mauri, who was a member of the Venetian dynasty of theatre architects and scene painters. This little book, although only 24 pages long, is packed with architectural detail and descriptions of the interior of what was then hailed as one of the more modern breed of theatres.Melzi, I, p. 284; I.C.C.U locates only 2 copies in Italian libraries; no copies located in RLIN or OCLC.
