[Rembrandt] Haden, Francis Seymour

The etched work of Rembrandt: a monograph. Written as an introduction to a chronological exhibition... held at the Burlington Fine Arts Club.... New edition.

London: Macmillan, 1879 [original edition, 1877]. Doublespread photogravures set out on hinges and numbered II, III, IV (see below) + vi + 54 pp. Dark green boards with dark brown spine. 25.7 x 16.2 cm. Edges rubbed, and paper on spine chipped or missing; half-title browned and front endpapers foxed; nevertheless, a decent copy of a significant contribution to Rembrandt studies. One must assume that plate I never appeared in this book. OCLC (the World Catalogue) mentions the plates in nine different descriptions of this book (4 for the 1879 edition book, 3 for the same in microform, and 2 for the 1877 edition). All specify three plates, as above.
