Buffalo, NY Breed, Butler & Co. 1863 64 pp. One of six titles in the second series of miniatures authored by popular children's writer Barrow under the noms de plume Aunt Laura and Aunt Fanny. Noted by Bradbury as "high spots in any miniature book collection," the volumes offer children's stories containing both religious and secular themes. In Little Katy, a young girl introduces her downtrodden mother to the teachings of Jesus. In green cloth boards with "Little Katy" and decorative design gilt-stamped on cover. Previous owner's inscription inside. Gilt on front cover somewhat rubbed, spine faded, and endpapers torn at hinges. A near fine copy. A.e.g. (Bradbury pp. 184-185). (1 5/8 by 1 3/16; 41x30mm.).
