Educated at Eton and King's College Cambridge, Benson returned to Eton where he was considered to be a brilliant schoolmaster. He published several pamphlets which were privately printed during his time there, of which this is one. Benson discusses the use of classical meters and how they can be applied to English verse and adds the occasional amusing comment as well. Frontispiece. A fine copy.
