[Oxford], e Theatro Sheldoniano, 1674. 4to. x + 96 + viii pp. Engraved printer’s device on title and 52 engravings of plants in text. Contemporary black calf, gilt borders on covers, spine richly gilt. First edition. The dedication to Hatton (vi pp.) bound at end. A few copies of this edition contain an additional leaf (not present here) bearing a dedication to the Royal Society signed by Boccone. Paolo Boccone (later Silvio) (1633–1704) was botanist of the Grand-Duke of Tuscany and professor of botany at Padua. Pritzel 859. Wing B-3385. Hunt 329.
