Dodsley ... 1759. 2 vols., 8vo., frontispiece of Earl Rivers and Caxton presenting their book to Edward IV, leaf of engraved music ‘The Voluntary before the March’ bound at the end of volume I (although intended as a frontispiece to volume II), first title-page a cancel as always (to correct the date); apart from a little foxing a good copy in contemporary polished calf (joints rubbed, labels and extremities of spines chipped). Second edition of a work first published at Strawberry Hill in 300 copies in 1758. Walpole himself read the proofs of this ‘corrected’ trade edition, published in 200 copies.
