The Chamalières Lions Club is pleased to announce the first Auvergne Antiquarian Book Fair to be held on 9th, 10th and 11th March 2012 at Chamalières, an important thermal town just outside Clermont-Ferrand, in the Massif-Central.In the geographical heart of France the area is famous for its extinct volcanoes, Romanesque architecture – and excellent cheese.

The three exhibition rooms of « Carrefour Europe » will welcome some forty international booksellers offering a wide range of antiquarian specialties : incunabula, rare books, first éditions, illustrated bindings, art books, travel, science, gastronomy, autographs, antiquarian maps, etc.

One room will present a wide range of book artisans : binders, book restorers, gilders, paper makers, typographers and publishers.

A second-hand book market will be organised outside the exhibition rooms, thus providing a wide range of possibilities for bargain-hunters as well as the specialist collector.

The Fair is organised by Léoda Scale and Bernard Maurel, book-sellers from Montluçon (06.86.33.40.50 and 06.71.65.26.45), who have organised the successful Lourmarin book fair in Provence for the past eight years.
