2008 - Madrid
Welcome to Spain!
The Congress of the ILAB and the International Antiquarian Book Fair took place in Madrid from September 8th to 13th, 2008, with the Honour Presidence of the S.S. A.A. R.R. Principes de Asturias. Madrid is a dynamic and ever changing capital with an overwhelming offer in cultural activities, gastronomy and hotels for all tastes. Museums like the Thyssen Foundation, the Queen Sofia Centre and the Prado are worth visiting.
The Lazaro Galdiano Foundation holds one of the most important art collections and libraries in Spain donated to the Nation by this patron in 1949. The Royal Palace belong to the most striking buildings in Europe for its construction, location and the variety of collections housed inside its walls. The library located in the North tower, bears rich treasures. In sunshine and high temperatures, the ILAB affiliates enjoyed a fascinating cultural Congress programme and a lively Antiquarian Book Fair at the Palacio de Congresos de Madrid, with marvellous objects presented in the showcases of ILAB booksellers from all over world.
