Bengt-Olof Landin (1925-2006) was professor at the University of Lund and specialized in entomology. He was a dedicated book collector since 1955 and had a special interest in handcoloured works from the 18th and 19th centuries. His collection consisted of more than 1000 books, and the highlight is 'Dissertatio de Generatione et Metamorphosibus Insectorium Surinamesium' by Maria Sibylla Merian, printed in 1719 with handcoloured frontispiece and 72 handcoloured counterproof plates in copper. A very rare and special work!
