Mecki – Der Comic der Westdeutschen

decoration03 Jul. 2011|28 Aug. 2011

The German „Mickey Mouse“: Since he first appeared in the German magazine “Hör zu” in 1949, “Mecki” was the most popular comic figure in post war Germany. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s Mecki was the protagonist of comics and movies. Together with his wife “Micki” (not Minnie) he travelled to exotic countries, arrested criminals and helped the helpless in dangerous situations. The exhibition shows comics, sketches, drawings, movies, stamps, postcards, toys: everthing.
